The latest COVID-19 figures released by acting Health Minister Mmamaloko Kubayi-Ngubane on Friday evening report that cases have increased by 22 443 in the last 24-hours, meaning that the total number of infections that have been accumulatively reported since March 2020 has risen to 2 157 687.
Sadly, over the last 24-hours alone, a further 347 people have died from COVID-19, meaning that a total of 63 873 people have succumbed to the virus since the first death in March 2020.
A total of 1 884 have recovered having tested positive for COVID-19, representing a recovery rate of 87.3%.
